Growing and developing a world-class work-based learning system.

Skills Development Scotland’s Director of Critical Skills and Occupations Diane Greenlees will be speaking at The Future of Apprenticeships in Scotland conference at the Royal Society of Edinburgh on 12 December.

The event is aimed at key stakeholders and policymakers and will include an address by the Scottish Government’s Minister for Business, Fair Work and Skills Jamie Hepburn.

Sessions will include next steps for Foundation Apprenticeships, priorities for Graduate and Modern Apprenticeships, apprenticeship retention and regional planning, especially in rural areas.

It will also look at ways in which apprenticeships can be used to tackle the skills gaps in Scotland in the context of Brexit and strengthening collaboration between industry and educational institutions.
